My First Day At Work Part III: The Caffeinating.

SO. I had planned allllll day to make a long-ish post, mostly paragraphs, talking about my first day at my new story in Storrs. HOWEVER. Two weeks of not working added to a seven-and-a-half-hour shift added to a very late meal added to a long day added to not having anything to eat since a slice of pizza almost six hours ago added to poor sleep last night equals out to a fairly brief entry.

(Note from author made halfway through this entry: apparently it's not going to be brief after all. Consider this your warning, all you readers somewhat new to my blog. For those not new: it's about average length.)

Here goes!

Things that are different at my new story:
[o] Fresh bananas! They're a pain in the ass to peel without touching the actual banana before blending. They actually make it take a little bit longer. They also apparently make for a lot of waste what with store-until dates and times when they've arrived in a...less than appetizing form. I didn't even know bananas could sweat. Verdict: boo.
[o] Recycling! Milk jugs, cartons (soy, juice, dairy), syrup containers, and newspapers all go in a recycling bin! My inner hippie is ecstatic! Verdict: woo!
[o] Ice bin! There's only one! It's like the long one at Ironwood, more of a trough than a bin, but I'm learning how to deal with it pretty quickly. Verdict: meh.
[o] Ice maker! Back to the plastic scoop and no velcro to keep the lid from smashing my hand! Boo!
[o] Blenders! They're attached to a bar at about hip height. And there's only two pitchers, one regular and one soy. Boo.
[o] Boss Man! He's a lot like my dad, an aging hippie just dripping with snark who likes to bust his workers' balls, mutters about customers under his breath on the floor, and outright calls them assholes and idiots in the back room. WOO!
[o] Co-workers! They're very nice and very friendly and very sarcastic. I like 'em. They also take care of each other on the floor. There was never a moment when it felt like someone was being abandoned while ringing or barring or anything else. Support is a given, scheduled in. And with how busy it was, that was really, really nice to have. Woo!
[o] Bars! THERE'S TWO OF THEM RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. When it gets really busy, you can pour four shots and steam two pitchers AT THE SAME TIME. I'd make a :D face but it wouldn't be a smile, it'd be a jaw dropped from the sheer wonder of it all! WOO!
[o] The order! It gets dropped off in the middle of the store, leaving us to cart it into the back to be sorted and put away. UGH. Boo.
[o] You know all those containers and tools we baristas use and take for granted every day, things like whips and pitchers and blenders? Yeah...as I mentioned, there were only two frappucinno pitchers, plus only four milk pitchers in use at any given time, and I'm pretty sure the store only has a half a dozen whips. And people, I was going through a whip every 20 minutes during the afternoon rush.
[o] And the one we've all been waiting for, especially me, TIPS. Drum roll please......around TWO BUCKS AN HOUR. Once again: :D WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Ahem. *composes self*

I got to work about 15 minutes early, just in time to go downstairs with Boss Man and another, much newer worker to get our cars registered with the plaza people (and learn that the trees behind our building are getting torn down for the new expansion, grumble grumble snarl hiss). I clocked in, the shift asked if I was up for barring, I said yes and jumped right in. Apart from figuring out where things are, it was pretty smooth, and it was awesome to get in a groove and do my favorite part of my job. It was really nice.

It was also really busy. Or, I thought it was busy, although still not as bad as I was expecting. I spent most of the day thinking: Yeah. I can do this. This is busy, and it's challenging, but my boss and co-workers are assuring me that I'm not mucking things up, and everyone seems really nice, and it's definitely do-able. Yeah! Then I talked to Mom on the phone hours later and found out that E.O. Smith (for those in Indiana, that's the high school di-rectly across from my store) was closed today for some kind of staff work day. That rush? That had no students.

Fuhhhh.

There was one bump today: I clocked in at 11, I got my first ten around 1ish...didn't get my meal until 4:30. I'm not entirely clear what happened, but I'm fairly certain it was a staff problem...either it wasn't done well ahead of time, or a partner mucked it up somehow. Not clear. Anyway. I clocked out for my meal, and I was all cranky about it, and decided hell with it, I'm getting myself a slice of pizza for lunch. The woman at Domino's informed me that the slice lunch special ended at 2...but she'd give it to me for free for the trouble. Then I went to the convenience store, got myself a juice...the clerk rummaged up a .50 cent off coupon to use on it, then gave me a few more for later use. I used the last 10 minutes or so to poke around the Portal and see if I could locate my last paycheck; Boss Man said he'd give payroll a call to help me find it.

Thanks, Universe! :D

Overall, it was a really great day. After work I went to a twenty-somethings women's group my therapist put together, and it was really great. I got to stop by Willington Pizza Too on the way home and correct a tipping error from a few nights ago, which made me feel a lot better. I got home to find ice cream in the freezer because Ryan wanted to get me something nice. :)

The best part was coming home, being able to take off my shoes and relax, having a space that's ours, that I helped put together and make tidy and welcoming and comfortable. And now I've done my required computer stuff and I've eaten dinner; now I can take a shower and climb into bed with clean jammies and a good book.

Happy sigh.

Owning The To Do List.

[x] reserve a car rental - Done!
[x] try and make a chiropractor appointment for Ryan, either Thursday in South Bend or Monday in Manchester - Probably not going to work, but his back has been better, so it'll have to wait and see for when we get back
[x] confirm if I can pack pounds of coffee and/or my camera case - coffee seems to be okay, camera depends on airline, whose site isn't being helpful. Decision: coffee's coming, my camera is staying home.
[/] print out itinerary and receipt and all that to make boarding pass collection easier - Found out we can do online check-in 24 hours before time, so will be doing that tomorrow.
[x] get laundry money from bank - Done!
[/] do a ton of laundry - In the midst! Other people are doing laundry in odd cycles, so it's been a lot of waiting and guessing.
[o] do a practice pack - Waiting for laundry to be done.
[/] reserve room/table at Willi Brew for Saturday night - Fuh. I had prepared myself for the possibility of issues, what with reserving the back room for prime time on a weekend, but dang. For a reservation of our size at our time, we'd need to do an Event Menu, which is...expensive. Like, just getting one buffet thing of chicken piccatta would $120, and while that feeds 24 people, it's still just one thing. I've sent out messages to see what we-all can/want to do, hopefully it still works out!
[x] call Mom and Dad to make plans with them (I'm a bad daughter) - Done and done, with tentative dates set for both. May call tomorrow to try and fine-tune, but we shall see.
[o] mail things at Post Office - Not done yet, will probably do in half an hour or so. Very glad to have a P.O. less than 10 minutes away, makes things so much easier!

Back into the madness!

Owning It.

I already bragged a bit on Facebook, but I felt like getting into more detail here. What I've done today:

[o] Got up at 7:30 (against my will, but still)
[o] Had a real breakfast
[o] Found proof that I paid for my January clinic visit and the Not A Bill But You Owe Money piece of mail is BS
[o] Went back to Kate's Garden and took 280 shots, almost all of them useable
[o] Filled up my gas tank
[o] Had a real lunch
[o] Uploaded said shots
[o] Took some more shots, of myself, for the 30 Day Creativity Challenge, and edited and posted one to start Day One
[o] Put away the dishes

It's barely past noon, and I have eight hours of my day job, wherein I will earn money and be a good barista. Today is definitely a success, and it's only begun!

Rules For A Day Off? You Read Right!

Honesty time!

I've been depressed over the past few days. I know, almost certainly, that it is a combination of hormones (yup, it's That Time), exhaustion (mental and physical) from work, and frustration with feeling stuck in/with things I don't like but can't change.

That's just background, really, to explain Ryan's rules for me today on my day off:

[o] There will be three meals. Breakfast is done, and he's in charge of dinner, but lunch WILL involve some kind of protein, a fruit or vegetable, and no grease or sugar.
[o] I will do something productive for two hours or so, if only because I am unable to have an "unproductive" (by my definition) day without feeling like I wasted the day.
[o] I will spend at least two hours doing something purely relaxing. This can be photography, reading a book, watching TV or a movie, whatever, as long as it's completely relaxing.

So, my plan for the day: Ryan works from 3:30 to 8:30. When he leaves, I grab my laptop and head for 933, where I will poke at novels and have a protein plate and a delicious drink and see awesome people I haven't really seen in quite a while. Around 6 or so, I come back home and either read with music in the background, or watch some Glee or My Cousin Vinny or something else silly and fun. When Ryan gets home, there will be a delicious dinner and socializing.

Wish my luck!

Did I Mention Blargh?

Not sure what to call this list...it's a combination of things going on in my life, things I WANT to be going on, things I'm focusing on or need to be or want to be...oy.

Anyway:

[o] On The/Running (haven't touched it or even thought about it in at least a month)
[o] photography (energy, schedule, weather, blargh)
[o] Etsy photography shop (energy, schedule, pricing, policies, blargh)
[o] wedding (yes it's a year and a half from now I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG TO PLAN)
[o] moving (consists mostly of worrying over money)
[o] trip to Connecticut (waiting to book tickets depending on upcoming funeral)
[o] housework (dishes, cleaning, laundry, feeling like it's all on me, BLARGH)
[o] oh, yeah, that job thing (a.k.a. 99% of my life)

And now, it's time to hopefully fetch my laundry. I say hopefully because, when I went down to move it from washer to dryer, there was a finished load in each dryer. I had to empty one to put mine in, and I'm nervous that I'll find my clothes removed, or an angry note, or an angry person, or I don't know. Oy. Wish me luck.

I Missed Earth Day. Poop.

My day:

[o] wake up
[o] get late breakfast/visit 933 crew with Ryan
[o] see Ryan off to work
[o] do mini photo session with engagement ring until camera insists that every single battery I put in it is dead. grr.
[o] go grocery shopping!
[o] return home in time for Aurelie to arrive and help me bring up groceries
[o] go back to Target with Aurelie and BJ to get her hair dye (and me candy, and BJ stuff)
[o] discover the Mishawaka Target doesn't have her hair dye
[o] go to Target across town
[o] get hair dye
[o] return home, watch several hours of Say Yes To The Dress, first with Aurelie's company and then by myself after she gets tired and goes home
[o] help Sameh after she steps on sharp tweezers and stabs herself in the foot
[o] eat dinner with Ryan
[o] type up entry

Whee!

I didn't do anything to celebrate Earth Day because, honestly, I wasn't aware of it until it was too late. I am glad I didn't work today, however, as apparently it was insane from Starbucks' policy of giving free coffee to anyone with a mug or tumbler on Earth Day. All day. WHEE.

Tomorrow, however, is back to the grind for another five days. I really needed this day of rest, and I hope I don't need one quite so badly by the time Thursday rolls around. This past week was stupidly busy and exhausting, and I'm not sure I could take another forty hours of it!

Seriously, you people--how does anyone work a 40 hour work week and go to college? Or raise kids? Or, I don't know, do ANYTHING?!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Closer...Closer!...

I'm a step closer! :D

Tomorrow, I get to work on other steps:

[o] Talking to people at FedExKinkos and getting solid costs for printing & shipping, which I'll then use to set prices
[o] Looking into getting a Post Office box for shop-related mail (returns, checks, etc) (may seem paranoid, but I'm taking into consideration the three adults also living at this address)
[o] Fine-tuning shop policies (returns, exchanges, etc funstuff)

I'm trying to select an Official Opening Date. I think I've mentioned in the past that I'm weird about picking dates. I like them to be auspicious, but I don't want to be silly, blah blah blah. I'll figure it out, but until then I'll take suggestions. Right now I'm considering either May 1st, or my birthday (May 21st). *shrug*

For now, dinner is almost ready, and I am very very hungry. And tired. And sore. And yeah. *thud*

Days Off Aren't Always Exciting.

Yesterday:
[o] Got up
[o] Drove Sameh to work since she lost her car keys
[o] Spent 3 1/2 hours at 933, me writing and Ryan playing Pokemon
[o] Got dinner
[o] Watched The Rainmaker (my first viewing, really enjoyed it!)
[o] Watched random TV with roommates
[o] Bed

Today:
[o] Got up
[o] Still eating breakfast and getting ready
[o] Doing the paycheck dance: Pick it up at Target, go deposit it at bank, go back to Target to buy groceries
[o] Do some cleaning at home
[o] Go to Aurelie's house to hang out

This weekend is two eight hour shifts, one pre-closing and one closing. Gonna be a long one.

Still feeling a little out of it due to some very weird and creepy dreams last night. Also have the (hopefully) last tendrils of yesterday's bad headache holding on. Meh.

Hopefully going out in the sunshine will help :)

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Whee?

Sorry, loyal followers. Yesterday got away with me.

What I did yesterday:
[o] laundry
[o] drew up a budget for March
[o] went to the bank
[o] went to the mall with Ryan, Aurelie, BJ and Sameh
[o] got ice cream with same group
[o] watched Fame (the new one) and generally hung out with Aurelie while the household raided

Today is back to work, 2 to 8. Yayyy. Tomorrow is my last day at 933. I tried to put together a group to go out and drown our sorrows, but my partner in leaving, Derek, is an alcohol and caffeine sabbatical until his wife gives birth. Might try it anyway.

I dunno. Poop.

Off I go...

At This Moment I'm...

What I'm doing right now:

[o] Eating delicious Chinese food from this fanTAStic place called Taste of Asia where the counter people actually speak English as a first language
[o] Harassing my roommates to vote in the preliminaries for my March Man Madness event
[o] Reading and rereading this horoscope and hoping that it refers to my future plans involving this blog
[o] Contemplating this recipe and this recipe
[o] Working on this profile which could lead places hinted at in my horoscope

Best Part: It Rained All Day.

Today...was a good day. With Ryan. :)

[o] Slept in
[o] Lunch at Panera
[o] Boppin' around the mall
[o] Found Teavana, which is an extremely dangerous place to find if you even slightly like tea, LET ME TELL YOU
[o] Brought last two cupcakes to Shift D & Em, the last two night people who hadn't had any
[o] Hung out at my Starbucks and talked with D, Em, JC, and Aurelie, who happened to be there studying
[o] Had delicious dinner: bison burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, and barbecue side, with fries and fanTAStic kosher dills on the side
[o] Made cupcakes, my best so far: upped the leavener so they're light & fluffy instead of thick & dense, and upped the vanilla so they're tastier. Baking skill go up!
[o] Watched Zombieland, which I've wanted to watch for quite a while. Extremely funny and entertaining.

Tomorrow is back to work...poo. I'm still very upset over the transfer, to the point where it's making me think about a lot of things in my life. It seems silly but...there it is.

There is a bigger update coming up, I promise. Love to all!

Today Happened Again! I Know, Right?

Today was:
[o] Up
[o] Bank
[o] Work
[o] Grocery store
[o] Dinner
[o] Watching movies (Hot Shots, Boondock Saints, and The Emperor's New Groove) with Ryan, Sameh, and Aurelie

Tomorrow:
[o] Lunch out with Ryan
[o] Buffalo burgers (as in buffalo meat, not buffalo seasoning) for dinner
[o] ...*shrug*

Friday, February 18, 2011

Today!

Today:
[o] Finished the icing for yesterday's cupcakes. They're cinnamon-sugar, the icing got flavored with maple syrup. I'm calling them French toast cupcakes. :D
[o] Brought said cupcakes in, along with the oatmeal chocolate chip muffins. Both were met with smiles and good taste reviews, but the crown definitely went to the muffins. Need to make those again, maybe with some more pizzazz...hmmm...
[o] Work kinda sucked. I loved the people, but the shift dragged, and I just...I couldn't get out of my own head, kept dwelling on the transfer and how scared I am of the new store and how much I belong at this one and aaaaaa
[o] Got off work, came out, where Aurelie had been chilling between watching Shark Week with BJ and waiting for me to get off while they raided starting at 8. We attempted to eat out, but didn't feel up to all the people, and ended up picking up some groceries from Meijer and eating mac n cheese in front of a muted TV while talking for a few hours.
[o] Finally got on the computer, have posted some picture, caught up with Tumblr and Reader and Facebook, and am ready to climb into bed and watch some stuff with Ryan before sleepytimes.

Tomorrow is a quick trip to the bank, work for 4 1/2 hours, grocery shopping, and going out somewhere with Aurelie, LeAnna, and other peoples. Yays.

Saturday, February 12, 2011

Must...Count...Blessings...Before...Explode...

I am...so tired. And I had one hell of a stressful day.

I could get into it. Or I could list the good things.

[o] Had some time with Ryan before we both went to work
[o] Pancakes for breakfast
[o] Worked with fun people
[o] Got my Target REDCard in the mail today
[o] Got a few more hours next week without having to take back the dreaded closing shift
[o] Had a fun conversation with Aurelie via text

Waiting for Ryan to get home, and then I get to eat, then shower, then SLEEP.

Kitty and Aurelie and Wall-E, Oh My!

What I did today:

[o] slept in
[o] had a breakfast consisting of a cupcake and a banana
[o] went with Ryan to pick up Kitty
[o] went as a trio to the bank, FedEx, Target, and Starbucks
[o] hung out with Kitty and Ryan, then Kitty and Ryan and BJ and Sameh, then Kitty and Ryan and BJ and Sameh and Alex, then Kitty and Ryan and BJ and Sameh and Alex and Aurelie, then Aurelie
[o] watched Wall-E with Aurelie, who had never seen it before
[o] editing some trying-to-be-fancy pictures for over here

Tomorrow is back to work. Boo. Last week's mini-vacation completely spoiled me, now I want to replace my 5 day work/2 day home week with 3 day work/4 day home, or even 4 day work/3 day home. If we could afford it, I completely would.

All the cupcakes I made got eaten up. Then general consensus (except for Kitty, who is a sweetheart) is that the were a bit plain. I followed the recipe a tad too exactly, and next time I plan on putting in way more vanilla.

One of the items I got today at the store was cupcake liners. I eyed the maple extract and orange extract for a very long time, and may have given in if they weren't $5 or $4 a bottle, respectively. My plans for tomorrow before work are to bake something else while I wash my work clothes. I've become an addict! :D

I didn't do laundry today, or write, or take pictures, or stitch. I did get lots of errands done, and I kinda cooked (made mac n cheese for visitors), and I was social and spent a lot of time laughing with people I find awesome. Good enough! :D

I do wish I'd been able to take Dad's call, but never fear, Dad! You gave me major food for thought. In fact, I plan on writing it over in my journal just now, before bed. I'll get back to you. :)

Off I go, to think and sleep...

My Mini-Vacation, Day 4.

What I did today:

[o] Futzed with more photographs
[o] Went to my Bux to hang out with people for a couple of hours
[o] Went to Hobby Lobby and dorked around a bit with AD
[o] Made dinner with Ryan (eggs and bacon, yum!_
[o] Attempted to make chocolate cupcakes....

We had the recipe for chocolate cupcakes, we had the ingredients for chocolate cupcakes, everything was peachy...until I went to add the brown sugar, and found that the container we kept it in wasn't even close to airtight, and the brown sugar had turned into rock candy. We chipped out enough to get the molasses flavor before giving up and substituting the rest with regular sugar, but the time it took changed the nature of the batter. So instead of chocolate cupcakes, we have cupcake-shaped fudge brownies. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not what I was going for. I'm a bit disappointed, as I was more in charge of this baking project than on previous ones, but again--fudge brownies. Not a bad thing.

I realized as I was baking, that I am a lucky fool. I'm a fool in that I had a childhood filled with cooking and baking, with my stepfather David doing his best to instill the love for it in me, and it just...never seemed to stick. I enjoyed the time spent with him in the kitchen, but I never had the inclination to do anything on my own. I've always felt guilty about that.

I'm lucky, first off, that I had someone in my life to plant that first seed, someone to coax and urge and gently push, even when I was a complete teenager about it. I am lucky, now, that I'm finally learning the joys of it, and that I again have someone to gently coax and urge and coach and push. Both of them have been extremely patient with my trepidation and second-guessing, firm about my doing it on my own without constant hand-holding or pampering, and encouraging of my successes without coddling. I have been spoiled with these presences in my life, and I couldn't be grateful or happy for it :)

This is the last day of my mini-vacation. I've spent most of it doing errands and chores; I cleaned up around the house, did dishes and endless loads of laundry, cooked and helped to cook, baked and helped to bake, caught up on correspondence, done the budgeting and planning and busywork to keep our teensy two-person "household" going...and I've enjoyed every second of it. It certainly helped that I still had the time to spend on art and socializing, and that I had my favorite person with me for half of it.

I'm looking forward to going back to work--I miss the people more than anything, but I also miss the barring and customer interaction to some weird degree. I blame the brainwashing. Still, it's been a lovely rest, and I can't wait until I get actual vacation time and can do this on a more regular basis!

My Mini-Vacation, Day 3.

Today I haaaaaaave

[o] picked up my prescription
[o] picked up Ryan's paycheck
[o] finished the week's grocery shopping
[o] went to the bank
[o] shipped a package
[o] finished writing and addressing thank you notes
[o] washed, dried, folded, sorted, and put away four loads of laundry
[o] rearranged the bedroom closet
[o] cleared out a lot of hoarded clutter
[o] broke down a gazillion cardboard boxes
[o] changed the bedding
[o] made dinner for Ryan and myself
[o] moved my favorite art photographs to my Mac so I could load them onto my iPad

I'm in the living room now, just finished that last task and will be hacking at an outline for On The/Running while, as usual for the past two days, Newsradio plays in the background. It might be hard to concentrate...I'm very tired, I had a big dinner to make up for missing lunch, and I might have had a delicious alcoholic beverage with that dinner....zzzzz.....

Tomorrow will hopefully be the social day of my little vacation, what with a couple of co-workers either visiting or wanting to hang out :) Either that or I'll write, or finally drag Ryan to the local pastry & coffee place, OR bang my head against my book some more.

....anyway! Right. Waking time. Writing time. Outlining time. Wheeeeee.....zzzzzz....

My Mini-Vacation, Day 2.

[o] Got lots of sleep
[o] Saw Ryan off to work
[o] Had an extensive photo session in the living room involving jewelry, scarves, a filigree ring, and gorgeous early afternoon sunlight
[o] Spent several hours playing with resulting photographs, with Newsradio playing on Netflix in the background
[o] Lent my car to BJ when one of his tires died
[o] Spent the rest of the afternoon/evening until Ryan got home doing table-requiring busywork in the living room, with Newsradio* playing on XBox Live Netflix in the background
[o] Welcomed Ryan home, went out with him to get dinner
[o] Watched the end of Monsters, Inc while eating dinner
[o] Talked to Dad for almost two hours :)
[o] Ryan went out to fetch Sameh when one of her tires died
[o] Had cake with Ryan after he and Sameh returned

I'm currently poking around the internet, although I may return to the busywork-and-Netflix combination in a bit.

Tomorrow's list!
[o] Take Ryan to Indulgences, a local pastry and coffee shop that was very lovely the one time I visited. Very college-town independent, very nice.
[o] Go to Target to fetch Ryan's paycheck
[o] Go to the bank to deposit said paycheck
[o] Go back to Target to spend said paycheck
[o] Cry
[o] Buy a lottery ticket while Ryan's not looking
[o] Reorganize the bedroom closet
[o] Maybe go to Starbucks and write during the household-involving raid?

Saturday's only plan involves possibly visiting Starbucks while both coworker A is working and ex-coworker LeAnna is visiting, since I rarely see either of them. Sunday is back to work, with my schedule switched with Katie so she can be home in time to experience SUPERBOWL SUNDAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! [insert eye rolling here]

Right! Back to the...something.

*Yes, it's a sitcom, but it's Dave Foley and Phil Hartman at their very best, and I was so happy to find it all on Netflix :D Now if only they had Night Court...or Ed...

My Mini-Vacation, Day 1.

What I did today:

[o] Got nine hours of sleep
[o] Had sleep interrupted only once, by a text message from Boss Lady saying that all district stores were closed due to the snow. \^.^/ This means FOUR WHOLE DAYS OFF IN A ROWWWWW
[o] Sleeeeeept
[o] Made pancakes
[o] Shoveled out the cars
[o] Went to the grocery store with Sameh
[o] Cleaned out the fridge
[o] Made a cake with Ryan
[o] Helped Ryan make dinner (chicken in the same style I described a few nights ago)
[o] Watched Seven Pounds

It was a really, really good movie. If nothing else, it proves that Will Smith is one HELL of an actor; there were times that he literally looked like a different person from all the pain and suffering his character was going through. Stupendous movie. It will make you cry. It's sweet and touching and so freaking sad. G'ah.

So now I'm trying to figure out what to do before I go to bed, so that movie isn't the last thing on my mind when I go to sleep. Cuz. G'ah.

Hum De Dum.

Man, I am just so bad at updating this week.

Yesterday was a good day, although not very exciting to write about. I slept, I watched TV, I did a ton of laundry, Ryan and I ran errands, we hung out with the roommates, etc.

The best part of the day was that it was my mom's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM! :D

Today's plan:
[o] go to bank
[o] go to my Starbucks
[o] clean our room
[o] take & play with pictures

Today's direct deposit from Starbucks is the second of the two "bad" paychecks we've been anticipating from our weeks of being sick. I can't wait for this month to be over, and money to no longer be the sword hanging over our heads. I mean, the money situation is never going to be super fantastic right now, but it's been worse this past month. Oy.

Off I go to start the day!
